Our garden is our of control! The tall stalk like thing to the left is cilantro! Who new cilantro could grow so tall? The big leaves are squash. Our peppers and basil died but you can see the tomatoes are going strong!

April 2010 was one the most amazing months of my entire life. I did not leave my 20's quietly.

I got about 24 hours with The Wades last week. Minus my severe allergy attack it was a fanastic time. We went out and took pictures and Julia let me ask her anything I wanted. I learned a ton of basic stuff about my camera and a ton of post production tricks I cant wait to use. Then we went to an amazing dinner with my parents. Thanks a ton to Julia and Jona for hosting me. You have perfect guest quarters. I loved Maggie (even though she makes my want to cry) and I loved being in your house. Can't wait to see you in June! xoxo

Brad, Abby and I went out to Half Moon Bay last week to shoot the sunset for my Photography class. I was so nervous I was going to miss but I got some great shots for my class and we stayed and had a yummy dinner overlooking the ocean. It was such a great afternoon. I was in line at Trader Joes when I opened this. I started laughing so hard the man behind me looked at me and said "I just gotta know what's so funny!" I told him that my girlfriend had just sent me the cutest Valentine. He quickly looked me up and down. I then said "No, not my girlfriend. You know my friend, she's a girl." He replied "It's ok, I dont need to know."

Julia and Jonathan arrived in Madrid on the 27th and we immediatly got a train and headed to Sevilla (Southern Spain). Yes, it was still raining. But that did not stop us. We first visited The Plaza de Espana which was an interesting mixture of historic styles and lavishly ornate architecture. At dinner we saw some AMAZING flamenco dancers who danced to folk songs called "Sevillanas". At first I thought they were singing too loud and off key but by the end I was completely entranced. The clapping was so intense and the dancing literally caused wood chips to fly off the stage. Check out Julia's blog for some illegal video and photos from the night! The next day we toured the Alcázares Reales de Sevilla a huge estate that just kept going and going and going. It was gorgeous! The upper levels of the Alcázar are still used by the royal family. Julia took some amazing photos. Check them out here.

After that we went to my brothers favorite restaurant "LA MONUMENTAL" where we had some yummy, authentic, Spanish food. Then we jumped on the train and headed back to Madrid. (Traveling by train is so easy. It is more expensive that flying but unbelievably convenient plus all in it is about the same exact travel time given you only have to arrive 15 minutes before departure. )

We toured Madrid on a rainy day. We did the Prado and a bus tour of "old" Spain. We had the most amazing 4 course meal for 12 euros. (It is hard to find a restaurant in Spain where no one is smoking.) We ended in up in Plaza Mayor then took the train back to my brothers house. It was a great day.

I love these kids. We so rarely get to see them so I tried to soak up every second. I stayed up late every night playing the guitar with Sean, piano with Shannan and chatting with Kelly. During the day I snuggled with Erin while Brad played swords with Liam and video games with Connor. For dinner Kelly made us some amazing food...pork roast, prime rib, lentajas etc. They were really amazing hosts.

Cheer, Kate and I had a fun night of shopping and eating out last Saturday. Unfortunately we got no pictures of us all together but I did get a shot of Cheer right after a mannequin literally fell on her at the Gap. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. She took it like a real women. I am laughing just looking at these photos!

Kate and I spent 7 hours last Friday night making homemade Christmas candy. I have such fond memories of my mom and her friends getting together every year for candy night. I thought it might be fun to try out some of their recipes and start our own tradition. We made English toffee, penuche, white & milk chocolate cranberry bark and fudge coconut balls. We were very pleased with the results! Thanks mom for all the words of encouragement!

In just 8 days Brad and I will be traveling to...

...to visit these people (Sean, Kelly,Shannan, Connor, Erin and Liam).

Then we will head to this amazing place...

...where we will spend New Years Eve in Venice with these fun people.

Julia and Jonathan are going to leave us in Venice and Brad and I are going to continue our journey visiting Lago di Garda, Cinque Terre, Florence with a final stop in Rome.

Does it get any better than that?? I don't think so. But... I will confirm when I get back.

Brad and I have been saving for and dreaming about this trip for the last 5 years. It has not really seemed real until this week as we begin making our final preparations.

Thanksgiving dinner is Mexico was much better than expected. I had planned to take photos of each course but they all looked so good when they arrived I forgot. oops.

We had a great trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico over Thanksgiving. Brad's parents had a condo that needed to be used in 2009 so we decided to head south to the warmth. Due to a couple of different circumstances his parents decided not join us so it ended up to be just Brad and I. We missed our families (really we did) but made the best of it. :) We slept a ton, swam, watched movies on the beach, ate, snorkeled and sunbathed. I would highly recommend it.

Kudo's to Brad for planning such an amazing night. We flew out of the Palo Alto airport just in time to see the tail end of the sunset, flew over the bay and arrived in Napa in under 30 minutes! We had dinner at Jonesy's (at the airport) then back over San Francisco to get home. The views were unbelievable! Thanks to Rob for getting us up and down safely!

Every time I speak to my friend Jenna I end up making "fun" of something she says or does. It's all in good fun and we always laugh about it later but I always end up eating my words. For example when she first moved to California I made fun of her for not having any closed toed shoes. She was like "Were in Cali! You can wear open toed shoes year round" I was like "Um...no its Winter" Fast forward 5 years and I have realized that I am in fact "In Cali" and that you can in fact "wear open toed shoes year round". Eating my words.

Well, on Sunday I was talking to Jenna who had just got home from apple picking with her family. Of course, I giggled and compared my recent escapades to hers stating "Well, I am sure it was not as fun as apple picking but it was a good time".
Fast forward 5 minutes ago to a phone conversation with my mom. I called her to tell her I missed her. She said they had just got home from apple picking and wondered if I wanted to come over and make apple sauce with them. I cried. All I want to do right now is go apple picking. Eating my words.

I know people probably think I am crazy for traveling from California to Maryland to vacation at the beach but you can’t really appreciate the east coast beaches until you have left them. They stretch for miles. The Ocean water is warm. They air is hot with a nice warm breeze. Planes fly overheard with advertisements for lobster dinners and Ladies night specials!? Ha. We had an amazing time in Napa last weekend! One of my best friends, Lindsay Ray and her new fiance Brandon, had a free trip to Napa so we had decided we would spend Saturday night up there. Then one of Brad's best friends, Matt Wetzel and his wife Gleidy, called and said they too would be in Napa for a dental conference so we quickly decided to spend the whole weekend up there! The weather was perfect. We ate like Kings and Queens. We went to Six Flags. We toured some wineries. We hung out at the pool. It was the perfect weekend!

Well for all of you that were even the least bit jealous you can rest easy knowing you really didn't miss much. I think I would have rather sat at home and watched my old VHS tape of some of her videos I recorded back in the day. It would have been the same thing only I would have been able to see her face and in the videos she actually dances.

LUCKILY...I went with Molly and Eve two really fun girls, so we still had a good time. The two best parts of the show were when our names made it to the Jumbo screen (twice!) and when Britney took a bow (letting us know the show was over)...so I posted pics of those.

We had such a fun week!

We got new hair do's (thanks Kate), ate like Kings and Queens (can you say lobster feast?), watched movies, ran on the beach (in an effort to burn off the lobster feast), went swimming (Moira is a little fishy), shopped (thanks Dad and Grandma (s) for the B-day $), learned the hot dog dance (HOT DOG), had enough sweets to fill a very large Easter basket and relaxed (we were in the zone).

Thanks to Mom, Cortney and Moira for coming all the way to Cali just to hang out with me. The best Birthday ever (well second to my fashion show, make over sleepover party)!

We had another fun day at half moon bay this weekend. Abby was going absolutely bonkers. She was rolling around in the sand, playing in the ocean and sprinting back and forth on the beach. Brad and I both got caught in the ocean a couple times, shoes and all which made for a super cold ride home! :)

3.) I love how disheveled Jason looked. Boy has issues.
4.) I loved the deer in headlights look that Molly had.
5.) I love that Jason and Molly started making out before Mellisa even left the building.

Thanks to Facebook the four ~~goofy~~ girls pictured above are back in touch. We met at Southern Virgina College. We fought over boys, clothes and the honor code. We gained weight. We lost weight. We gained weight again. We bickered over who was better friends with who. We started the SS Club (forever), we started our own dance troupe, we drank a lot of diet soda and we made the best mixed CD ever. I have so many fun memories with these girls. I really hope I get to see them all very soon! P.S. I love that Lindsay and I are holding hands!

German Pancakes...

One of my favorite childhood memories is of my mom yelling for us to come into the kitchen to see how high the German Pancakes had rose. We would then watch them fall and she would sift powdered sugar over the top of them. I made my own last weekend and when I opened the oven to take them out they were touching the rack above...I couldn't help but yell for Brad to come see.

Here is the recipe if you want to try for yourself:

German Pancakes

6 eggs at room temperature
1 cup flour
5 Tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
½ teaspoon salt
dash vanilla

Set oven to 450 degrees. Melt butter in a 9 x 13 pan in oven. Whip eggs until thick and a creamy yellow color (but not too much or they wont rise). Add milk, flour, salt and mix. Pour batter into pan of melted butter and bake at 450 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until brown on edges. Pancake will rise and become high and fluffy. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with syrup or hot applesauce.

Serve 3 – 4 people

You can see me in the top right corner grabbing Brad or... is he grabbing me? Either way, this ride was aweseome!

On our way in a man handed us a free park hopper ticket ($98 value)...I knew right than that it was going to be great day. I had never been to the "Land" before only the "World" but it was so long ago I did not remember much. The weather was perfect and the lines were not too bad. It really topped off one of our most perfect weekends.

Brad's company had this years Holiday Party in Newport Beach. They flew everyone down and put us up at the St. Regis. It was wonderful. I took Friday off and flew in Early so I could really experience the area. I drove down The PCH and stopped in Newport Beach to get a mani/pedi and Laguna Beach to do some window shoping. Wow! I think this I where I belong. It was 70 degrees and sunny so when I checked into the hotel I headed straight to the pool! (I took the pic above and sent it to some of my girlfriends letting them know that I wished they were there!) After the pool I took a bath, watched a movie than got ready for dinner! The food was great and they had a band so we danced are little heads off. What a day! What a night!

Rock Band was the big hit this Thanksgiving! We were like the Partridge Family....ok maybe the Jackson Five.
Moira is the sweetest little baby. She kept falling asleep on my chest, what a cuddler!!
Thanksgiving dinner was yummy and spending time with my family was needed in a big way!

Yes, this is the one and only Tim Gunn!!! We saw him shopping at Bendel's (my favorite store in the whole world)! He kept saying "Shop, Shop, Shop!!"

I love NY during the Holidays . Some of the decorations are amazing!!

Yes, Abby came with me. She hated her carrier, but was so happy to see so many new places!!

I had such a fun trip to NYC! I got to have dinner with my little brother Michael in Brooklyn and stay with my friend Jen and Family in Jersey City!!! Jen and I met at SVC almost 8 years ago and were destined to be the best of friends. She is so fun and easy going. I could hang with her all day every day. Her cute little boy, Ethan and handsome husband Mike aren't so bad either!! Thanks for such a fun time.

Abby's "sister" Kinley slept over last night. (Abby lived with Kinley before she lived with us.)
Poor Brad thought I went out and adopted another dog when I walked in the door. He just looked at me and told me hated me. It was a long night! After a couple Alpha Dog brawls they decided they wanted to be friends again. Few.

Fast forward to 3 AM Kinley Barking, Abby Crying.
Brad called me the dog whisperer this morning because he found me on the couch with Kinley spooning my legs Abby on my head. I am sure it was a sight to see.

I had such a fun time in Chicago visiting Jenna, Dennis and Davis. Jenna and I spent one night in Chicago at the famous Drake Hotel. We got had a huge suite all to ourselves! We had the most amazing Steak dinner with yummy baked Mac n' Cheese (see above), we shopped, we had the yummiest Salted, Carmel Hot Chocolates from Starbucks, we played with Davis, we ate a Chicago deep dish pizza, I had a couple Chicago Style hot dogs and we laughed... a lot! Thanks Jenna for making it happen. Miss you!

Thunder Road...

This weekend I ran the San Jose ½ Marathon. I can not describe the new found respect I have for those of you who run Full marathons. I really don’t think I would have been able to run another 13.1 Miles.

Here is quick summary of my run. 1-5 were cake. At 6 I was starving! I had stashed some lifesavers in my pocket just in case and boy did they come in handy. For 7 &8 all I can say is Thank you Rhianna, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake.
Around 9 I made the mistake of taking some banana goo from the volunteers which instantly made me gag. At 10 I was certain I was going to throw up and began mentally trying to prepare myself for it. But, it never came and I got my 2^nd wind around 10.5. I felt like I was floating. I loved it! As I came up on the last turn I moved to the left preparing to sprint when I saw Brad and Abby waiting for me to pass. At that exact moment "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen came on my Ipod which was all I needed to finish strong. I turned on the heat and went as fast as I possibly could for the last stretch. What an amazing feeling to cross that finish line.

Thanks to Molly for being such a great training partner and thanks to Eve for convincing me to sign up.
