My sunflowers have sprouted...

Julia Wade sent me the most darling sunflower growing kit for my birthday and I am so excited because they are actually starting to grow!! So fun! The directions were pretty easy. It said to plant 4 seeds in each pot (so of course i planted 7). Now they are all sprouting and the only thing that worries me is that it said something about choosing the strongest flower or sprout then replanting...i think i would kill them and I dont have the directions anymore. Molly, any advice?

Which Molly are you asking for advice? Hahaha. I'll give my advice. If you let all the seedlings keep growing in the little pots, they'll suffocate each other (not enough room), so they suggest you start a bunch of them and then essentially get rid of the "runts." I say let them sprout, then carefully shake the dirt/sprouts out of the pots into your hands and separate the seedlings. If you have room outside, I'd say plant all of them and keep them all going. Or if you just want to have one in each cute little yellow pot, then re-pot one in each using potting soil and plant the others in emptied yogurt cups with holes poked in the bottom (or paper cups or little pots) sitting in another sunny spot as insurance. If one of the ones in the yellow pots dies, you can swap it out and pretend nothing happened. Hahaha.
