Run for something this weekend....

My friend Erin is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She is loving, out going, true to her faith, patient etc. (the list goes on and on). Some of you may have gotten to know her as she has made a habit of commenting on the blogs of perfect strangers (which happen to be many of you). Anyway, Erin is running for President Hinkley this Saturday as part of the Marathon Mommies tribute to him. I thought I would invite any and all of the many runners out there to run on Saturday in memory of our beloved Gordon B. Hinkley. If anyone is up for a 3 miler Saturday morning let me know. I would to do it as a group. Check out these blogs for the whole story.

I am going to miss Jenna and here's (just some of the reasons) why...

  1. She is so happy.
  2. She lets me make up ridiculous, exaggerated stories about her, us or whatever then listens to me tell them over and over again.
  3. She always smiles when I stop by and she never makes me leave.
  4. She asks me how I'm doing.
  5. She gives me little surprise gifts!
  6. Our scary movie parties.
  7. She lets me be me and never judges, she just laughs.
  8. Free Microdermabrasion.
  9. The good example she sets for me.
  10. Shopping. We know how to shop.
  11. Baby Davis and Big "D"
  12. Someone to try new things with. (ie: Pilates, juicing, Swimming, Tennis, Rollerblading, Walking, Suzanne Summers, Raw Food, PT, Step etc.)
  13. She just kind of "gets" me ( and has learned to "get" Brad)
  14. She has helped me learn how to have and be a friend. Something I did not know I needed.
From the first time I saw her I knew I wanted to be her friend. She was fabulous (and still is). She played hard to get (or maybe she just did not want to be my friend) but I persisted... and I am glad I did. I am sad she is leaving but so excited for the new adventure they have ahead of them. I am so proud of Dennis, he worked so hard and his dream is coming true! I will be hard for me to drive by their street and not turn (the only thing stopping my will be the fear of running into Don.)

Oh, the places I have been....

Happy New Year!
I had such a fun adventure over the break. Check out the pictures below!

This is literally the route I took starting on December 19th, 2007 and ending on January 6th, 2008. I put in red the cities i actually spent time in and added all my connections for drama.

San Jose, CA to Las Vegas, NV to Salt Lake City, UT (Brads Family) to Denver, CO to Nashville, TN to Raleigh, NC (The Wades) to Columbia, SC (McClain Wedding) to Atlanta, GA to Madrid, Spain (The McDevitts) to Toledo, Spain to Salamanca, Spain to Amsterdam to Washington Dulles to Chicago, IL to San Francisco, CA.

Spain...

My older brother Sean and his family have been living in Madrid, Spain for over 2 years. With the fear that they may soon be transferred, my family visiting there from NY and Brad needing some time to focus on MBA applications I decided last minute to make a trip over there! It was amazing. This was my first trip to Europe. and what a great place to start!
My sister-in-law Kelly and niece Shannan (seen in pics above) were great tour guides. Kelly was a great driver and navigator (with a little help from Tom Tom) and Shannan was a great translator.

I have so many great memories but some of the highlights of my trip were:

  • Spending time with Sean, Kelly, Shannan, Connor, Erin and Liam
  • Late night TV with Shannan
  • Toledo
  • My adventure to Salamanca
  • Food: Our bargain Lunch at the Castle, Jamon and Lentahas
  • Open Markets
  • Francos Tomb( see the huge Cross)
  • “Me llamo Earl” with Kelly
  • Three Kings Parade
  • The steal game with My mom, dad, brothers and the McDevitts
Not so favorite memories from the trip:
  • Spanish drivers
  • The olives taste funny
  • The black cat in Salamanca
  • Jet lag
  • 26 hour trip home
  • Missing Brad
My brother and his family our so very generous and patient! Thanks for making my trip soooo amazing.

Pictures from Alley Cats Wedding...

Road Trip! We stayed the night with Julia then drove 3.5 hours to Columbia! We laughed a lot!

One of my friends from high school, Alex McClain, got married on Dec 29th in South Carolina and me and my best friend Kelly went together. What a blast! It was like a mini BHS reunion. It was so fun to see all of our old guys friends all grown up. Girlfriends, Fiances, Wives and Babies. Too weird! Alex's new wife is gorgeous and unbelievably sweet. I am so glad we went.

Christmas with The Bakers!
